Elementary (completed 2nd – 5th grade)
Intermediate (Middle/High School)
Advanced (Middle/High School – per teacher approval)
When school is out for the summer, dancers have more time to focus on their training and to fine-tune skills acquired throughout the school year. In the Sharon Davis School of Dance Summer Dance Intensive Workshops, students focus on dance technique throughout the day. It is a great opportunity for students to explore various dance styles and techniques.
We work on the following: ballet, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, and contemporary. Specialty classes sprinkled throughout the week include: choreography, dance history, conditioning for dancers, theatrical make-up, and backstage production.
Summer Dance Intensive Workshops are highly encouraged by our teachers as these workshops challenge and strengthen dancers’ abilities and improve their endurance, therefore progressing the dancers’ technique level. When dancers regularly practice for a longer duration each day, they make kinetic connections, increase strength, and progress rapidly. This is proven on Friday at 3:00 PM in Studio A with a performance of diverse choreography set upon the dancers.
Due to limited space in our workshops, dancers receive more individual attention, gain confidence, and excel tremendously.
Sharon Davis School of Dance offers three one-week Dance Intensive Workshops during the summer: Elementary (grades completed 2nd-5th), Middle/High School Intermediate, and Middle/High School Advanced. The day begins at 8:30 AM and ends at 3:30 PM. Speak to your teacher about participating in this special opportunity.
